Lead a PKD Research Subgroup - Expressions of Interest Invited
The PKD Charity and Kidney Research UK are seeking leaders for 6 theme-specific research subgroups within the newly established UK PKD Partnership.
The PKD Partnership aims to foster collaboration in discovery and translational research to expedite therapeutic advancements for polycystic kidney disease (PKD).
Available Research Subgroup Lead Positions:
- Genomics and Phenotyping
- Translational, Pre-clinical testing
- PKD Models and Assays
- Biomarkers
- Clinical Trial enablement
- Paediatric ADPKD and ARPKD
Roles and Responsibilities:
Each lead will serve on the PKD Scientific Steering Committee, presenting quarterly progress reports and contributing to strategic discussions and plans. Responsibilities include shaping collaborative PKD research directions, optimising the use of UK resources, supporting early-career PKD researchers and facilitating potential industry partnerships.
Candidate Profile:
Ideal candidates will possess:
- A robust background in PKD research or closely related fields
- Demonstrated leadership and committee experience
- A portfolio of peer-reviewed publications pertinent to the subgroup theme
- A history of securing PKD-related research funding
