ARPKD animated information video
Paediatric nephrologists at Evelina London Children's Hospital are in the process of creating an animated information video to help children (Aged approx. 8-10yrs) and their families learn more about Autosomal Recessive Polycystic Kidney Disease (ARPKD).
The written information that currently exists is not always pitched at the right level for children, while a video can be a more appealing way of helping young people to understand their condition better!
This will be part of a series of animated videos on childhood kidney conditions, which should be available on the kidney information webpage of all UK hospitals in due course.
The ARPKD video is currently at the storyboard stage, which is a sketch of each ‘scene’ and the order they will appear. The finished video will be animated in full colour, but before moving to this stage, the project coordinators are inviting parents, family members, carers and children affected by ARPKD to review and give honest feedback on the proposed video storyboard.
See here for an example of how the finished video may look.
