What types of gifts can you leave to the PKD Charity?

Residuary Legacy

This is a share or all of the balance of your estate once tax (if any), expenses and other types of legacies have been paid.

Example of this might look like: "I leave 50% of the remainder of my estate to PKD, registered charity number 1160970.

After all other expenses and gifts have been dealt with, 50% of what's left will go to the charity.

Pecuniary Legacy

A fixed amount of money. With the passage of time, pecuniary legacies will lose value due to inflation so you may wish to review your Will every few years.

Example might look like: "I leave £5,000 to PKD, registered charity number 1160970.

This means the charity will receive exactly £5,000 from your estate.

Specific Legacy

This is a gift of a specific item such as a personal possession, land, car or property.

Example of this might look like: "I leave my house located at 12 Green Street to PKD registered charity number 1160970.

This means that the charity will receive my specific property, and they can use the gift to best suit their needs, this is often selling the item and using this as income.
