Hi, I'm Kelly Oakes, the new Fundraising Manager at the PKD Charity.

I joined the PKD team at the beginning of July 2018 and already I’ve met and spoken with some truly inspirational people. I’m privileged to have joined this fantastic charity in the role of Fundraising Manager. I was introduced to the sector in 2001 by a charity who assisted my late Dad and have worked in charities ever since. I’ve enjoyed roles at some big organisations including DEBRA, RNIB and Mencap and several who are less known.

My experience in fundraising is broad: I’ve organised televised gala events, led capital appeals for new projects, taken part in international bike rides, developed relationships with businesses and managed government funding bids and delivery. I’m excited by the challenges we face at PKD Charity – increasing awareness of the vital services the charity provides and raising the necessary funds to deliver them – from what I’ve seen we’re already making progresses in these areas.

I’ll be leading on fundraising activities for the charity so if you’d like to get involved please do get in touch, from taking part in a run or bike ride to organising a bake sale at your place of work, there is something for everyone and every penny raised really will make a difference.

Feel free to drop me an email or give me a call at any time. Don’t forget, you can also join the PKD Charity Fundraisers group on Facebook where we’ll be sharing and discussing new ideas! I look forward to meeting and speaking with many of you over the coming weeks and months.
