About the Great North Run
The Bupa Great North Run is the premier event in the Great Run series and firmly established as the world's greatest half marathon.
Starting in Newcastle, the course takes in the iconic Tyne Bridge, goes through Gateshead passing the famous international athletics stadium and finishes in the coastal town of South Shields. You may even catch a glimpse of the Red Arrows as you start your journey! Live music, on-course refreshments and thousands of cheering supporters will keep you motivated every step of the way. The Bupa Great North Run is not only part of the cultural fabric of the North East, but has touched lives across the UK and around the world – last year's event saw runners from over 40 different countries taking part.
We have ten places remaining in the Great North Run. All we ask is that you aim to raise a minimum of £200 in sponsorship, and help is on hand with your fundraising.
If you have your own place and would like to use this to raise funds for the PKD Charity, then we would love to hear from you.
